Starting a sock business can be fun, but it still takes a lot of work just like any other business. So, I own and run Kimchi Socks in my free time from my full-time job in the Military. Running this business on the side has taken a lot of work that I have to do in my free time from the military, taking care of my wife, and kid. Therefore, I stay pretty busy seven days a week.

Now I am developing a sock subscription service underneath the Kimchi Socks LLC business entity that will be made for the Blockchain community. Since this is pretty much me creating a subsidiary sock business. I figure it would be good to document the process I am taking to build this sock subscription service.

The eCommerce Platform

So, I decided to go with using Shopify platform to host CoinMarketSox because I been watching and listening to a lot of good reviews about people starting up their store on their platform, and also they made it easy to install apps and themes for your online store. Kimchi Socks is using the WordPress platform that we are hosting on our server, and I wanted to do something on Shopify, and this was the perfect opportunity to do so.

Here are some of the expenses I have made on Shopify so far.

  1. Annual Membership Fee: $156.00
  2. Theme: $180
  3. App Subscription Fee: $13

I spent $52.60 on 4 domains that I used to be my own custom online store address and so I can pick up any people who may type in the wrong web address.

I used Fiverr to get the logo for CoinMarketSox design and it’s costing me $178,50. I also hired a freelancer to do some SEO research work for me as well and it cost me $55.

Once I have the logo and images ready. I will start pushing Facebook and Instagram Ads with a budget of $200~$300 to start out with.

Crypto Playhouse

I plan to also work with some influencers as well with a budget of $100 a month with free socks given each month.
