Just so you know, this is a post about the Blockchain company Strokentokens.com who my company Kimchi Socks LLC designed and produced socks for. This is a company that is working to offer lower fees, improved privacy, payment anonymity, data protection, and decentralized financing for the adult entertainment industry. All of these different forms of commodified sexuality have one thing in common. The professionals providing these services require payment. Customers purchase goods and clients hire service providers. Sex professionals are providing their time, attention, and performances. A book that I highly recommend that you read is “Thriving in Sex Work: Heartfelt Advice for Staying Sane in the Sex Industry” by Lola Davina so you can develop a better understanding of these adults who chose to participate in the sex work industry of their own free will. I am a firm believer in we should have a full understanding of a subject before we make any conclusion. However, I think a lot of people bypass trying to understand and they go straight to demeaning people.

The Bounty concept that Stroken is coming out with is interesting, a unique way to spark community engagement, and create more creative options for people to choose. Plus a little competition is great for sparking innovate ideas which ends up giving customers better options. So, this crowdfunding idea for the best adult entertainment content integrated with using blockchain technology to facilitate the payments has some great potential. This makes me think about something I heard from the audiobook “The Butterfly Effect with Jon Ronson” by Jon Ronson who investigated the effects of free porn from the website PornHub and similar platforms. He discovered from his research that a lot of adult entertainers moved from the traditional form of content creation which dealt with a video was made, distributed, paid for, and profits reinvested to create more videos. Well with the introduction of people pirating adult content and putting it up online for free for anyone to download. This caused a lot of problems and resulted in porn stars and actors to start offering custom video content. So, we saw the birth of boutique adult content creators. I’m interested in seeing the metrics of how Stroken’s bounty will benefit the adult content creators new and old.
